Honorary Patronage of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario

We are honored to announce that the Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, has graciously accepted to serve as the Honorary Patron of Canadian Parents for French (Ontario). Her support reinforces the importance of our mission to promote and create opportunities for young Canadians to learn and use French as a second language.

Role and Commitment as Honorary Patron

While the Lieutenant Governor’s patronage brings esteemed recognition to our work, it is important to note that her role is largely symbolic and non-political. Her Honour cannot actively participate in advocacy, lobbying, or fundraising efforts. However, the recognition and association with the Lieutenant Governor will help raise awareness of our programs and initiatives that support bilingual education and foster appreciation for Canada’s Francophone culture.

Use of the Lieutenant Governor’s Name and Image

We are authorized to mention Her Honour’s support on our website and social media platforms, but all communications involving her name must be pre-approved by the Lieutenant Governor’s office. We will strictly adhere to the non-partisanship required and ensure that Her Honour’s image and title are used with respect and accuracy.

For more details about Her Honour’s role and the guidelines around her involvement, you can visit the Lieutenant Governor’s official website.

We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the recognition it brings to our programs aimed at expanding opportunities for French learning across Ontario.
