Reading Circle / Cercle de lecture is a FREE virtual program for French Second Language (FSL) Ontario students in grades 1 to 8 in French Immersion, Extended French, and Core French. Register for our two-week sessions; kids meet for 45 minutes every day during the week. Led by our newly graduated teachers or teacher candidates, kids will participate in a shared reading experience with discussion and some written exercises.

This program is funded by the Government of Ontario.

The ‘French Reading Circle’ was a great way for my son to expand on his current French reading, speaking, and comprehension skills. He also had the opportunity to socialize with others his age who spoke in French. Programs like these are as rare as a beautiful diamond. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity because it’s much appreciated in these hard times :)

Important Note:

  • All programs are held on Zoom, links will be emailed the week prior to the start of the session
  • Sessions are not held on statutory holidays
  • To give children an equal opportunity to register, only one program per child will be permitted

Expectations for Participants:

  • Arrive 5 minutes early
  • Ensure your child has access to the provided email address to receive important correspondence
  • Everyone is expected to fully participate in activities in each session
  • Children that distract or interfere with the success of the Zoom sessions will be muted or removed
  • The camera needs to be turned on with your child’s accurate name on Zoom
